Truck Series Overview
The Truck Series is considered the third level of NASCAR racing, right below the Xfinity Series.
It is a direct outgrowth of off-road racing. Supporters saw no real future for it and a small group of racers proposed this new form of pavement race.
Initially, the Truck Series featured drivers from the short-track (less than one-mile) circuit. In latter years, some of the younger drivers have used the Truck Series as a stepping stone in their racing careers. Many have gone on to be major figures in Cup Series racing.
There are three types of drivers in the Truck Series: the Cup Series drivers who own Truck Series teams, the regular truck drivers who race full time in the series, and the young drivers who use the series to qualify for Cup Series races.
The Truck Series started in 1995. The series has changed its name six times: NASCAR Super Truck Series (1995), Craftsman Truck Series (1996-2008), Camping World Truck Series (2009-2018), Gander Outdoors Truck Series (2019), Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series (2020), and finally back to Camping World Truck Series (2021-).

2024 Truck Series Playoffs
The Truck Series playoffs consist of 7 races. The first three are the Round of 10 races, the next three are the Round of 8 races, and the last is the Championship. Note that each race has a full field of drivers, but only 10, 8, or 4 are eligible for the playoffs.
