The WNBA regular season will end September 10, and the playoffs are scheduled to begin September 13 and go no later than October 20.
Last year, the Las Vegas Aces ultimately defeated the Connecticut Sun 3-1 to take home the trophy.
This year, as of this writing, the New York Liberty (on a 6-game winning streak) and Connecticut Sun have a sizeable lead in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Aces are way out in front of all the other Western Conference teams. Those three together with the Connecticut Sun have already clinched playoff spots.
The Indiana Fever, Seattle Storm, and Phoenix Mercury are trailing and have already been eliminated. The Storm’s slump is widely attributed to the departures of Sue Bird and Brianna Stewart, while it’s the first time in over a decade that the Mercury won’t be in the playoffs.
How to Watch the WNBA Playoffs on Sling TV

WNBA Playoffs Schedule
Round 1 is best-of-3 and the semifinals and finals are best-of-5. In Round 1, the 1st and 8th seeds will play, the 4th and 5th seeds, the 2nd and 7th seeds, and the 3rd and 6th seeds.
Before 2022, the WNBA champion was determined by a four-round contest, with the first and second rounds being single-elimination format. The bottom four seeds started in the first round, the 3-seed and 4-seed were added in the second round, and the 1-seed and 2-seed got a bye until the finals.
Because of the best-of-x format, it’s unknown how many games each series will take. It could be two or three for the first round, and anywhere from three to five for the later rounds. Here’s what we know so far about the schedule:
