Although it may seem like the Republican Presidential nomination has been going on for years, no votes have yet been cast. But the first two votes are coming up fast:

  • Monday, January 15: Iowa Caucus
  • Tuesday, January 23: New Hampshire Primary

But before these occur, the voters have a couple of chances to see the candidates in action (EST):

  • Wed Jan 10 : Republican Presidential Primary Debate (CNN)
  • Wed Jan 10 : Donald Trump Town Hall (Fox News)
  • Sun Jan 21: Republican Presidential Primary Debate (CNN)

CNN Debate Specifics

The January 10th debate will run from for two hours. It will feature Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley and will be moderated by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. After the debate, Anderson Cooper and Kaitlan Collins will host an analysis with a panel of CNN experts.

We don’t yet have a time for the second CNN debate. We will update it when it is available. But CNN has the 5-hour block from scheduled as “CNN Special Program,” so we assume most of that will be debate-related.

Fox News Town Hall Specifics

The January 10th Town Hall with Donald Trump will be hosted by Bret Baier (Special Report) and Martha MacCallum (The Story).

The event will run for one hour and there will be no analysis afterward. It is followed directly by Gutfeld!

Sling Blue for Debate/Town Hall

Sling Blue is advertised as being good for entertainment and news. That’s certainly true, but it offers more than that. In particular, it offers ABC, Fox, and NBC affiliates in select markets.

Note that if ABC is available in your area, the price of Sling Blue is slightly higher: $45.00/mo.

It also offers sports channels FS1 (Fox Sports 1) and NFL Network. And a good selection of general channels like A&E, AMC, AXS TV, BBC America, BET, Bravo, Comedy Central, Discovery, E!, Food Network, National Geographic, SyFy, TBS, TNT, truTV, USA, and much more.

In terms of news, Sling Blue really shines. It includes:

  • Bloomberg TV: Business and capital markets news.
  • CNN: The first cable news channel is also a trusted source of information.
  • Fox News: Year after year, the most popular cable news channel.
  • HLN: Provides up to the minute information about what’s going on.
  • MSNBC: General news channel with popular liberal hosts at night.

Sling TV Features

Sling Blue plans come with 50 hours of cloud DVR storage. If you need more, you can upgrade to 200 hours. It also allows you to stream on up to 3 devices at the same time. This is great for diverse households that don’t agree on watch to watch. Your kids can watch National Geographic while you watch the debate!

Sling TV provides streaming apps for most devices in use today. This includes (but is not limited to) Amazon Fire TV (Firestick), Android mobile, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS (iPhone, iPad), LG smart TVs, Roku, Samsung smart TVs, VIZIO smart TVs, Xbox gaming systems, and more.

How to Watch Both the Debate and Town Hall

Sadly, CNN and Fox News have decided to go head-to-head and schedule their events at the same time: Wednesday, January 10th at . But what can those who want to watch both do?

One great feature of Sling TV is its included DVR. So you can record one or both of the broadcasts and watch one live.

But this isn’t completely necessary. The Fox News Town Hall is only one hour long. So you could watch it and then switch over to CNN. This would allow you to watch the second half of the debate as well as the hour of post-debate analysis.

Alternatively, you could have the two streaming on different devices at the same time since you can stream on up to 3 devices at once with Sling Blue. But we think this would be pretty confusing in practice!

Wrapping Up

Sling TV allows subscribers to watch both the Fox News Town Hall with Donald Trump and the final CNN debates with Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis for as little as $40.00/mo. Sign up now and get $25 off your first month!
