Fiesta Bowl 2024

The Fiesta Bowl is one of the most important despite being a relatively new one. It started in 1971, more or less the beginning of the expansion of bowl season. Since 2014, it has been part of the College Football Playoff (CFP) although it is not holding one of the semifinals this year. (The two this year are the Rose Bowl — Michigan vs Alabama — and Sugar Bowl — Washington vs Texas.)

It has tie-ins with the Western Athletic Conference and Big 12 Conference.

The Fiesta Bowl straddles the new year — being held the last week of December or the first week of January. As a result, there can be two games in one year or none. For example, the last Fiesta Bowl was on December 31st, 2022. There is no 2023 Fiesta Bowl.

Here are the details for the 2024 Fiesta Bowl:

  • Date: January 1st, 2024
  • Location: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, Arizona)
  • Channel: ESPN
  • Matchup: No 8 Oregon Ducks vs No 23 Liberty Flames

Sling TV: Cheapest Way to Stream the 2024 Fiesta Bowl

ESPN will air the final three bowl games on January 1st: Fiest, Rose, and Sugar — the latter two being the CFP semifinals this year. The other two bowl games that day — ReliQuest and Citrus — will air on ESPN2 and ESPN3.

To get access to the ESPN channels, you need a live TV streaming service. There are a number of options like Fubo (FuboTV), DIRECTV STREAM, and Hulu + Live TV. But if price is at all an issue, Sling TV should be at the top of your list.

Sling Orange offers all of these channels for $40.00/mo — and you get your first month with 50% off!

In all, you will be able to watch 39 of the 42 bowl games this season. That is 51¢ per game! This is by far the best price in the industry!

There are two other games that air on Fox: Holiday Bowl and the National Championship. The Sling Blue plan offers Fox (as well as ABC and NBC) in select markets. You can get the two plans together (Sling Orange & Blue) for $55.00/mo. This is also available for half price for your first month.

Sling Orange Channels

Sling Orange comes with a total of 32 channels — good ones, not strange channels that you can find for free on sites like Pluto.

First, they provide The Disney Channel, Freeform, MotorTrend, and QVC. And you also get A&E, AMC, BBC America, BET, Bloomberg Television, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Food Network, HGTV, History Channel, IFC, Lifetime, Nick Jr, TBS, TNT, Travel Channel, and more.

Even better, Sling TV is by far the best streaming service when it comes to customization. There are dozens a la carte channels you can add. And there are add-on packages.

Of particular note is the Sports Extra add-on for $11/mo. It includes a bunch of channels that air live sports: ACC Network, beIN Sports, ESPNews, ESPNU, Longhorn Network, MLB Network, MLB Strike Zone, NBA TV, NHL Network, SEC Network, and Tennis Channel.

(If you get Sling Orange & Blue, the Sports Extra is $15/mo and also includes Big Ten Network, FS2, Golf Channel, and NFL RedZone.)
