AEW took the pro-wrestling scene by storm in 2019, when it launched to almost instant acclaim. With Tony Khan as president and wrestlers Cody Rhodes, Matt and Nick Jackson (tag team The Young Bucks), and Kenny Omega as co-founders and Vice Presidents, the new promotion was up and running immediately.

Early pay-per-view events “Double or Nothing,” “AEW All Out,” and “Full Gear” helped cement its place as a wrestling powerhouse. AEW’s flagship TV show, AEW Dynamite, also premiered that year, stomping all over WWE NXT in the ratings.

Today, AEW is considered a rejuvenating shot to a pro-wrestling scene that had gone stale with no real competition to WWE. With three weekly shows, a quarterly special, and PPV events throughout the year, AEW isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Second, AEW Rampage will be taking on the developmental role the Dark series played by featuring younger AEW talent and indy wrestlers who haven’t signed on yet.
