The Round of 32 is over, and we’re down to 16 teams. The Sweet Sixteen. And you can watch all eight games with a high-scoring combo of Sling TV and Paramount+!

In a hurry? The Men’s Sweet 16 will be televised on TBS and CBS (four on each), while the Women’s will be on ABC and ESPN. The cheapest way to get these channels online is with Sling TV: Sling Blue + Paramount+ for the men, or Sling Orange for the ladies — or get Sling Orange plus a free antenna to watch them all! Save 50% on Sling TV now!

The Sweet Sixteen, collectively, are the regional semifinal teams of the March Madness NCAA tournament. The winning teams will become the Elite Eight, and go on to compete in the regional championships to make it to the Final Four, and then on to the National Championship.

There are no Cinderellas left in either the men’s and women’s brackets, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be surprises, even upsets, in the upcoming matchups. It also means we’ll see plenty of familiar faces from college basketball in the coming rounds.

Below, we’ll go over the teams, the contests, the schedule, the channels you’ll need, and how to get each one of them for less with Sling TV.

How Can I Watch March Madness Sweet Sixteen in 2024?

The Men’s March Madness games are divided between the Turner networks (TBS, TNT, truTV) and CBS, while the Women’s games are all on ESPN channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU) and ABC.

Watching Men’s Sweet Sixteen

The Men’s Sweet Sixteen, like the rest of the Men’s March Madness contests, will be on CBS and TBS. TBS is no problem — it’s included with every Sling TV plan. CBS — well, that’s a bit trickier.

Sling TV does not stream CBS on any of its plans, but it does offer new sign-ups a free antenna if you prepay a couple of months in advance. An alternate work-around is signing up for Paramount+ with Showtime for $11.99/mo, which includes a live feed of your local CBS affiliate.

Streaming the Women’s Sweet Sixteen

The Women’s Sweet Sixteen is actually a lot easier, because ESPN Sports has the rights to all the games. Now that it’s down to just eight games, all eight are on the main ESPN channel except for the two most hotly anticipated matchups: last year’s champions LSU vs UCLA and the rock star Iowa Hawkeyes vs Colorado, both airing on ABC Saturday afternoon.

Sling TV only includes ABC in about eight markets right now, but that’s okay because ABC sporting events are simulcast on ESPN3 — and Sling does have ESPN3, in the base package, even. So all you need is Sling Orange ($40.00/mo), and you’re good to go to watch Caitlin Clark break some more records.

Watching the Whole Shebang

You actually can pick up Sling Orange to watch all the Sweet Sixteen games (other than the CBS ones), because TBS is in either package, CBS is in neither, and Orange has the ESPNs.

The only drawback to the Orange plan is that you can only watch on one device at a time. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, consider getting the Orange + Blue package for $55.00/mo (4 devices at a time), and switching to Blue when there isn’t a sporting event on ESPN. (There’s no cost for switching plans, and you can do it as often, month to month, as you like — which is why streaming services are awesome.)

2024 Sweet Sixteen March Madness Schedule

The Men’s games will take place over Thursday and Friday (March 28-29), and staggered so that if you actually want to watch all four games each night, you’ll need two TVs (or a lot of channel flipping).

The women will be on Friday and Saturday (March 29-30), and they are scheduled so you can binge-watch four games each day if you want.

2024 Sweet Sixteen Players to Watch

There are no shortage of superstars to keep an eye on this round. Starting with the women:

  • Caitlin Clark, Iowa Hawkeyes: The Hawkeyes just missed winning it all last year, going down to LSU in the Final, but that’s just made them hungrier this year. Hungriest of all is the all-time top scorer across Women’s and Men’s Division I Basketball, with a record 1,113 so far.
  • JuJu Watkins, USC Trojans: An up-and-coming freshman, she’s got 13 games over 30 points this season, including both 2024 basketball tournament games over 20 and a crazy 51 points against Stanford back in February.
  • Paige Bueckers, UConn Huskies: Scoring 28 points or better in both championship games so far, Bueckers has helped UConn to its 30th straight Sweet Sixteen despite a season filled with injuries.
  • Angel Reese, LSU Tigers: Last year, she led the Tigers to victory against the Hawkeyes, and was named Most Outstanding Player, BET Sportswoman of the Year, and an ESPY for Best Breakthrough Athlete. After and she’s hoping to make it a streak.

Now the men:

  • Zach Edey, Purdue Boilermakers: Last year’s national Player of the Year leads the country with 24.4 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game. At 7’4″, it’d be hard to miss him, though.
  • Donovan Clingan, Univ. of Connecticut Huskies: Speaking of (literal) big men on campus, this 7″2′ center is getting attention for both his offensive and defensive moves.
  • Dalton Knecht, Tennessee Volunteers: With 7 games over 30 points in the regular season, it’s not hard to see why this high scorer was named SEC Player of the Year.
  • RJ Davis, North Carolina Tar Heels: Leading the ACC with 21.4 points-per-game and shooting 43.6% from the field in the regular season, he’s actually managed to take his game to the next level in the Big Dance, making it over 50%.
