The Winnipeg Jets are one of the newest teams in the NHL, having joined the league back in 1999. At that time, they were known as the Atlanta Thrashers. In 2011, they moved to Winnipeg and became the Jets. They are not directly related to the previous Winnipeg Jets, who were in the NHL from 1972 through 1996.

Since becoming the Jets, the team has played out of the Canada Life Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Last year, the Jets made it to the NHL playoffs but lost in the first round 1-4 against the Vegas Golden Knights after a strong first-game win. In the Jets’ defense, the Golden Knights did go on to win the Stanley Cup.

They have only made the playoffs seven times in their history and have never made it to the Stanley Cup finals.
