Using Streaming Services to Watch Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time Without Cable

The best thing about ditching cable and switching to streaming services is that suddenly you can build a package of the content you want and the exact channels you want! It can be confusing however as often multiple services offer the channels you’re looking for. This section is to help you figure out how streaming services work.

Streaming services are like cable in the following ways: both offer packages for monthly fees with a set number of specific channels, to allow you to watch TV. However, beyond those basics, they are quite different.

Price – Cable can cost around $100 per month while streaming services average out at around $50. And the cheapest streaming packages can get as low as $20 to $30 per month.

Freedom – Steaming allows you to cancel the moment you want to, since there’s no contracts and you’re not locked in. Cable locks you in to a contract and cable prices are constantly on the rise. With streaming, you have total freedom to watch what you want at the approximate price you want, without increases.

Piled on Fees – Cable often charges extra for satellite dishes, cable boxes, installation etc. Streaming services don’t require any sort of special equipment beyond a streaming device. And the flexibility is incredible since you can stream them to all sorts of devices, like Roku and mobile, unlike with cable.

Location, Location, Location – With streaming, you can watch where you are: at home, on the go, while traveling or at a friend’s home. Just stream to your device like an Ipad or phone!

Check out our guide about streaming devices to see your best device options.
