CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) is one of the most important national sports channels. It’s one of the channels fans worry about losing if they cut the cord.

However, there are plenty of ways to watch CBS Sports Network without cable. Read on to find out more.

In a hurry? If you want a solid streaming service with lots of sports channels as well as CBS Sports Network, these services will work great:

  • Fubo: The best streaming service for international sports also provides 150+ well-selected channels. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial.
  • DIRECTV STREAM: Get a great channel lineup with the best selection of RSNs in the industry. A 5-day free trial is now available for DIRECTV STREAM.
  • Hulu + Live TV: This total entertainment streaming service provides a great on-demand selection and all the essential live TV channels.

If you can’t watch your favorite sports because of your location, get ExpressVPN to access the content you deserve.

In a hurry? Unfortunately, we don’t know a streaming service in that offers this TV channel/sport. But if you’ve already paid for the right service, and just can’t watch because of your location, there is an easy way to get the sports, movies, and TV you deserve. You need a VPN, like one of the following.

ExpressVPN

1. ExpressVPN: Established VPN provider in 105 countries. Smart DNS, a built-in ad-blocker, and unlimited bandwidth. Try it with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Private Internet Access

3. Private Internet Access: The only no-logs VPN with a location for every US state. Get 82% off + 2 months free.

If you’re overwhelmed and not sure where to begin, you’ll find all the answers in our full VPN guide.

The CBS Sports Network is part of the larger CBS Entertainment Group, which in turn is owned by the megahuge Paramount Global (formerly Viacom-CBS). But unlike the flagship CBS network, it is not available over the air via antenna. It requires a TV provider to access it.

While CBSSN is a general sports channel, it began with a focus on college sports and still airs a lot of NCAA football and other sports news and events.

How to Watch CBS Sports Network Without Cable

CBS Sports Network presents a wide variety of live sports events. Their coverage of college basketball is exceptional, as well as college football, although they cover other sports, such as professional soccer, golf, and tennis. Their original shows include That Other Pre-Game Show, Premier Boxing Champions, and a simulcast of the long-running radio program The Jim Rome Show.

The network used to air NASCAR and had a brief deal with Bellator MMA, before the former went to Fox Sports and the latter to sister-channel Showtime.

Since CBS Sports Network is a “cable” channel, you must get it through a provider. And if you want to avoid the cable company, you need a streaming service. They become more popular every year for their ease of use and accessibility. You simply need a streaming device and an internet connection.

Streaming devices can be anything from a smartphone to a big-screen TV. You probably already have one of these in your home. Now, with the help of this guide, you need to select the right streaming service.

Streaming Services With CBS Sports Network

CBS Sports Network is not as widely supported by streaming services as, say, ESPN. For example, neither Sling TV nor Vidgo offers CBSSN — even as an add-on.

Combining Paramount+ and Sling TV is a great low-cost way to watch all of The Masters! Check out our general and finals guides.

Luckily, there are a number of others that do.

FAQs

What college sports are on CBS Sports Network?

CBSSN originally was a college sports network, but in 2011, they began to branch out into professional sports as well. The channel still covers a lot of NCAA sports, though, and it’s still what it’s perhaps best known for. It currently airs the following collegiate divisions/events:

  • Most NCAA basketball conferences and March Madness (shared with Turner Sports)
  • Football coverage of the SEC, Navy, Mountain West, Army, Mid-Atlantic, Conference USA, the Sun Bowl, and the Army-Navy game
  • National Collegiate Hockey Conference
  • Patriot League and Conference USA baseball
  • Conference USA softball
  • Patriot League lacrosse

What international sports are on CBS SN?

CBSSN is the current US home of the UEFA soccer games, including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and the Europa Conference League. It also airs soccer games from the Scottish Professional Football League (Premiership, Championship, and League Cup) and Italy’s Serie A.

What kind of women’s sports are featured on CBS Sports Network?

To start, it covers the NCAA women’s games and playoffs as well as the men’s: basketball, baseball, ultimate, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, and volleyball. Professionally-speaking, it covers the WNBA and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). It’s also the only place where you can watch a nationally-televised all-women sports panel program, We Need To Talk, which this year has been celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX with a series of specials.

If you’re looking for the NCAA Women’s Basketball National Final, look to ESPN. Sling TV is your cheapest option.

Is the PGA Tour on CBS?

Yes, you can access the PGA Tour every year on CBS and its sister channels. They have been home to The Masters, PGA Championship, and Tour Championship for many years now. You won’t have to miss a single shot, putt, or hole-in-one when you have access on your streaming devices. These days, they share coverage with ESPN.

If you’re looking for the women’s PGA, though, the LPGA Tour is on the Golf Channel and NBC stations.

Is the Super Bowl on CBS Sports?

Every few years, yes. Three of the Big Four networks (NBC, CBS, Fox) have a long-standing deal with the NFL to take turns broadcasting the Super Bowl. The new contract includes ABC as well. CBS last aired the Super Bowl in 2021, and will again in 2024, 2028, and 2032.

Fun facts: CBS broadcast the first two Super Bowls, and is one of two networks (the other is NBC) to broadcast two Super Bowls in a row. It’s also aired the most Super Bowls — LV in 2021 was its 21st.

What is CBS Sports HQ?

CBS Sports HQ is a 24/7 online sports news channel. It’s a collaboration between CBS Sports and CBS Interactive (known today as Paramount Streaming). You can watch CBS Sports HQ without having a cable subscription. You will, however, need to have a broadband connection and a streaming device. Just install the CBS Sports app on your device and it will start playing.

Do I need to pay a fee to watch live games on CBS?

You will not be charged a verification fee in order to stream live games when you use CBS Sports. You will need to have a login for any games that stream live on Paramount+ or CBS Sports Network, of course. Any live games that air directly on CBS can be viewed entirely for free over the air with an antenna.
