Thinking about switching from cable but don’t want to pay for a streaming service either? Sling TV’s latest announcement is just for you. The company just announced that they are expanding their Sling Free experience to the web. This means free access to over 3,000 hours of content. You don’t even have to have a base subscription!

This means you have free access to nearly 1,000 movie titles and more than 4,000 TV episodes. You can also purchase Pay-Per-View events and movies or you can add premier standalone channels. Sling Free does not require any credit card information or base subscription.

Sling Free used to only be available via their app on Android, Apple, and Roku. However, this new move means you can access free movies and TV shows wherever you have access to Chrome (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux OS desktop, or Android mobile/ tablet versions supported), Safari (desktop version only), or Edge (desktop version only) browsers.

One of the benefits of the Sling Free experience is that you can subscribe to the Sling TV standalone channels that you want. You simply select them from the “Add Channels & More” ribbon. You can also easily upgrade to a monthly subscription via the banner. If neither of those interests you, you can just continue watching the free content without any kind of subscription or account.

As a bonus, the Sling Free experience is offering Flashback Fridays. This will feature hits like The Maiden Heist, Stuck in Love, The Proposition, and Bernie. Flashback Fridays will last during February thanks to Sling TV partnering with Blockbuster.

While Sling Free offers free movies and TV shows, you can stream live broadcasts with Sling TV. There are numerous channel packages available, as well as numerous add-ons. You can check out the review of Sling TV here.
