Netflix Orignal Series Fuller House

2016 Netflix Premiers and Reboots you May Have Missed

My favorite part of the New Year is that a lot of my favorite shows start returning. If you have cable, odds are you have to wait until the fall to see your favorite shows; but luckily for cord cutters, we don’t. Instead of waiting, many of our favorite titles premier throughout the year; that way you’re never too far away from the next new episode.

Taking a look back at 2016, Netflix had a ton of original shows return for another season and today we’re going do a breakdown of some of the best shows that premiered in 2016.

What is better than finding a show that you love? Finding it a few seasons in. Are you ready to start binging? Then let’s get started!

Fuller House

@fullerhouse – February 26, 2016
Ok, I’m a little ashamed but honestly, this is the show I’m the most pumped for. I’ve always enjoyed the original run of Full House and this reboot has got me in the nostalgia. The basic plot of this reboot is that all-grown-up DJ Tanner is now a widowed mother of three. Overwhelmed by all the stress, she asks her sister Stephanie and her best friend Kimmy to help her out. Expect to see familiar faces, a bunch of new ones, and all the laughs we’ve come to expect from the Tanner family.

House of Cards

@HouseofCards – March 4, 2016
Francis Underwood, everyone’s favorite ruthless politician, is back for season four of House of Cards. Although not the first Netflix original, House of Cards is the show that put Netflix Original Series on the map. I’ve got my own theories of how season 4 is going to go down, but to avoid spoilers all I’m going to say is: It’s about to get real.

@Daredevil – March 18, 2016
If you haven’t seen Marvel’s Netflix Original Daredevil, and you love superhero plots – then put down that slice of pizza and add this one to your queue. But before you begin, erase your brain (as my 4 years old puts it) of that abomination Ben Affleck movie. Then sit down and get ready for a riveting story of Matt Murdock: Blind attorney by day, fearless superhero by night. Season 2 is supposed to amp things up to an eleven with the inclusion of everyone’s favorite vigilante: The Punisher.  Fun Fact: the accident that gave Daredevil his powers ALSO created the Ninja Turtles. No, seriously.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

@KimmySchmidt – Spring 2016
Last year’s surprise hit, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is back for its second season. If you’re unfamiliar, the show centers on a plucky young woman whose trying to get life on track after being kidnapped by a crazy preacher and kept in an underground bunker for 15 years. It sounds kind of dark but don’t worry, it’s one of the funniest shows around and season 2 should be even better.

Marco Polo

@MarcoPoloMP – December 2016
Not just a fun game to play at pools parties, Marco Polo is a sweeping historical epic about, well… you guessed it, Marco Polo. If you’re unfamiliar, Marco Polo is a famous explorer that spent much of his formative youth in the court of the great Kublai Khan. If you love sword fights, intrigue, and Chinese history; you’ll love Marco Polo.

Looking at the Netflix lineup for 2016, there’s a lot to be excited about if you’re a cord cutter. We’ve got some new shows premiering, a lot of our favorite ones coming back, and a whole lot more down the pipeline that we probably don’t even know about… and that’s JUST with Netflix. I can’t wait to see what everyone else has to offer.
