Wisconsin Badgers vs LSU Tigers

The 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl features the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten Conference and the LSU Tigers of the Southeastern Conference. LSU is expected to dominate this game.

The Badgers managed a 7-5 record for the season — 5-4 in the Big Ten. That was good enough for third place in the West Division — and sixth overall.

The Tigers made third place in the West Division of a very strong SEC and fifth overall. Their record was 9-3 (6-2 in-conference).

Wisconsin Badgers Personnel

Head coach Luke Fickell is in his first season with the Badgers after six seasons at Cincinnati. With him are offensive coordinator Phil Longo and defensive coordinators Mike Tressel and Colin Hitschler.

The Badgers’ offense is led by quarterback Tanner Mordecai. The top two running backs are transferring or injured so Jackson Acker will likely take the lead. Along with them are wide receivers Will Pauling, Bryson Green, and CJ Williams and tight end Hayden Rucci.

The Wisconsin defense features linebackers Jake Chaney, Jordan Turner, CJ Goetz, Maema Njongmeta, and Darryl Peterson, defensive backs Alexander Smith, Ricardo Hallman, Hunter Wohler, Preston Zachman, Jason Maitre, and Nyzier Fourqurean, and linemen James Thompson Jr, Gio Paez, Rodas Johnson, and Ben Barten.

LSU Tigers Personnel

Brian Kelly is in his second year as head coach at LSU — after a decade at Notre Dame. With him is defensive coordinator Matt House. Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock may not be present for this game as he has taken a job back at Notre Dame.

Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels will not be playing in this game. Instead, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will lead the offense. With him are running back Logan Diggs, wide receivers Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr, and Kyren Lacy, and tight end Mason Taylor.

On defense are linebackers Greg Penn III, Harold Perkins Jr, Omar Speights, and Whit Weeks, defensive backs Major Burns, Sage Ryan, and Andre’ Sam (Zy Alexander is out with injury), and linemen Jordan Jefferson, Bradyn Swinson, Ovie Oghoufo, Sai’vion Jones, Javien Toviano, Jacobian Guillory, and Maason Smith (Mekhi Wingo is injured).
