In a one-of-a-kind partnership, streaming television provider fuboTV has partnered with Viasat to bring streaming sports, news, and entertainment to the friendly skies. For the first time ever, passengers on participating airlines will be able to access fuboTV during their flight for free.

fuboTV and Viasat announced the deal in a press release issued this week, adding that this partnership “advances how content can be delivered and consumed in-flight.” Passengers on participating airlines will be able to seamlessly access fuboTV’s 100+ live streaming television channels as well as fuboTV’s video-on-demand library. Best of all? There will be no charges – passengers can watch fuboTV for free.

In a statement, fuboTV’s director of strategic partnerships Cristina Arango, says that the partnership with Viasat will enable fuboTV to continue bringing world-class content to as many viewers as possible. “We’re focused on delivering the best live TV and sports streaming service to our customers—anywhere, and now that includes at 35,000 feet,” said Arango. “Streaming live television is complex, and fuboTV prides itself on our internally-built tech stack that allows us to bring a stable experience to our subscribers. That’s why it was critical for us to work with a proven technology partner like Viasat to enable fuboTV to be one of the first live streaming services to expand distribution to the U.S. aviation market.”

To watch fuboTV during their flights, passengers either have to be a current fuboTV subscriber or sign-up for a free seven day trial of fuboTV when in-flight. The entire fuboTV catalogue will then be available, including more than one hundred live channels from BCU, FOX, ViacomCBS, A&E Networks, AMC Networks, beIN Sports, Crown Media, Discovery Communications, NBA TV, NFL Network, SHOWTIME, Turner, Univision, select regional sports networks, and more. In addition, fuboTV has a rotating on-demand library featuring more than 30,000 TV shows and movies.

fuboTV is a subscription-based streaming service ($55 each month) that is one of the best alternatives to cable TV on the market today. All you need to watch fuboTV is a subscription, reliable internet, and a compatible streaming device, computer, or smartphone. If you want to kill your cable bill, give fuboTV a shot with a 7-day free trial.
