Introducing KlowdTV  – A Spanish Focused Cable TV Alternative

Klowd TVIt can be tough finding a cable TV alternative for Latino television. There is no shortage of English language content, but finding anything in Spanish can be a bit of shot in the dark. Comparatively speaking streaming services like Hulu and Sling TV have decent collection of Spanish language content, but compared to the Anglo-centric content you can find everywhere else… Well it leaves something to be desired.

But there is a new service out there that just might help tip the balance in favor of Latino audiences, and it’s called KlowdTV.

KlowdTV is a streaming service similar to Sling International (Sling TV) in that for a few dollars a month you can get access to dozens of live channels just waiting to be streamed from your television. Where it differs from Sling TV is more or less everything else.

For example, unlike Sling TV, there is no “default” package. Instead, you are presented with a collection of smaller subscription packages that you can purchase access to; with each package being grouped by genre.

Klowd TV Channels

Normally, this is the part of the post where I would name all the available channels for streaming but I can’t do that. Do you know why? Because KlowdTV has a nearly 60 channels available for streaming.

Instead of naming all the channels, I will share with you the different packages you can subscribe to.

Some packages will have more channels than others, but on average you’ll get anywhere between five – nine different channels for each package.

Sports on KlowdTV

Though we wont be going into details on each package, I would like to provide a bit more context on the Sports Package.

The first focuses on Soccer and includes the following channels: PXTV HDAYM SportsLatin American SportsbeIN SPORTS En EspañolGolTV En EspanolTVC+ Latino

The second package focuses on MMA and includes the following channels: Fight Network, FightBox

If you are a fan of either of these sports, you would be hard pressed to find a more cost effective way to watch them.

How Much Does KlowdTV Cost?

“Sounds great,” you might be saying “but how much does it cost?”

That’s the best part. Each package only costs $3, which is phenomenally cheap. Even the Sling TV add-ons will run you at least $5. So theoretically, you could purchase every package and only spend $24 a month. If your are interested, make sure you check out their risk free, 7 day Free Trial.

You’ll be hard press to find any cable TV alternative that will give that much content for so little. The only other service that comes close is PS TV, and that’s limited to several cities and highly expensive. Even if you’re not keen on getting everything on KlowdTV, it’s hard not to find something that you like on there.

But it gets even better.

As the name suggests, you can record your favorite shows and sports and save it on cloud storage. You can record multiple shows at a time, so no worries about conflicts of schedule between family members. The only limit on how much you record is your allotted storage space, but if you run out of room you can always purchase more.

KlowdTV Supported Devices

Klowd TV Supported Devices

As far as devices go, it supports: AppleTV, Mac, PC, Android, iOS, Roku, Amazon Fire, Sony Smart TVs, Hisense TVs, TiVos, Samsung Blu Ray Players, and other OperaTV enabled smart devices. Sorry gamers, no console support.

Even if you’re not interested in Spanish language content, even if you don’t like international sports, KlowdTV is definitely worth a look. This is the closest we have come to an ala carte style television package that cord cutters have dreamed for so many years, and when couple with the astronomically low prices it’s hard not to give it a look.

“A lot of people are talking about cord-cutting, but we think we’re the only one really making a platform that caters to what people really want—a very low cost, any-device a la carte offering. This makes us a bit of a lone voice, so that’s a challenge. We need to be able to amplify our voice to grow our audience and attract more content partners,” O’Hara told DC Inno.

Cord cutters, have you tried KlowdTV? What did you think of it? Sound off in the comments below or send us a tweet!
